Lina’s Areola Restoration Training is a dynamic program designed for artists who feel called to do meaningful, life-changing work.

You’ll learn how to create realistic, areola restoration tattoos while developing the confidence, sensitivity, and clinical awareness required when working with post-surgical and breast cancer clients.

Led by an industry leader with extensive hands-on experience, this training is rooted in artistry, safety, and deep respect for every client’s journey.

All live classes include corresponding online coursework, combining hands-on training with digital learning. Online courses are available a la carte. Our courses are continuing education for individuals who are already licensed and do not provide any licensing.

DAELA online trainings are intended as a prerequisite to in-person training for licensed artists of all artistry levels and also offered as continuing education a la carte for licensed professionals. If you are unsure if the online trainings are sufficient without in-person support, just call us, we are happy to talk through it with you!

Important Notes:

  • Proper depth and pressure cannot be learned through online instruction and require professional, in-person mentorship.
  • Unsupervised practice may establish incorrect habits that can negatively impact skill development and client safety.
  • Practicing machine work prior in-person training is not recommended and may result in improper technique.
  • Prior to in-person instruction, practice should be limited to sketching in pencil.
  • If taking the online course a la carte, and you are a newly licensed PMU artist or this is a new discipline, we do not condone practice on live models or clients.
  • DAELA is an advocate for exceptional client results and we suggest that students spend many hours pencil sketching and working on fake skin (after in-person training) before taking clients or models unsupervised.

Course includes:

Kit, online training, and an 81-page bound manual which includes: Complete technique guide, preferred vendor list, tray set-up, social media guide, and sanitization practices. Written by Lina Anderson

Valuable Kit Includes:

Numbing products, full size ink set including black and white inks, stencils, fake skins and samples. We do not include a machine, but we can order one for you and will include two boxes of complimentary needles.

*Live Models:

Every in-person course includes live models for real-time, hands-on learning. Licensed tattoo artists are also welcome to bring and work on their own model during the training.

Students who are not yet licensed may fully observe the appointment process and actively participate in consultation and shape design, gaining a comprehensive understanding of each step.

Enhance your training experience with an optional third in-person day, designed to deepen your understanding through real-world application and observation.

You’ll have the opportunity to choose between two immersive options at registration:

Shadow Day | $1,000
Spend the day in-studio alongside your trainer, observing how she navigates a full client schedule. From consultations to mapping, technique, and client communication, this experience offers valuable insight into the flow, decision-making, and artistry behind a successful day in practice.

Shadow Day + Model | $1,600
Combine the full shadowing experience with the opportunity to work on an additional model under your trainer’s guidance. This option allows you to not only observe, but also apply your skills with real-time feedback—helping solidify your technique and build confidence.

This add-on day is designed to bridge the gap between learning and real-world execution, giving you a deeper level of clarity, confidence, and readiness as you return to your own clients.

One-on-One training is a dream come true!
You will receive the full, normal course training with access to online training.
You will be the only student with 100% of the trainer’s attention on you.
You choose convenient dates with the trainer!

Online Training is a detailed training course available a la carte and is also included with in-person courses.

  • The course includes text, video, quizzes and downloadable documents!
  • Work at your own pace.
  • If you sign up for an in-person course, you are given instant access to the online training.
  • If you take online training a la carte and want to add the in-person course, we deduct the online course cost from the in-person course cost.

We purposefully keep our class sizes to 2 students. This ensures quality one-on-one time with the instructor as well as develop relationships with your peers. You will also have quality time with your instructor while working on a live model. Working directly with the master artist is the key to a successful technique and training. We also offer one-on-one training- perfect for beginners and advances PMU artists because we can tailor the training specifically to your needs.

Tattoo licenses are required to work in most states. If you are not currently licensed in your state, please become licensed and be familiar with your state guidelines, you can’t work on clients in your state or on models in our training without obtaining required state licensing. We do not license for tattoo in any state.

Note: Oregon licensing requires that tattoo artists attend full time school, 50 practical’s and must pass state boards to obtain a license. This licensing process is lengthy and cannot be avoided. Our courses teach continuing education for licensed Oregon Tattoo Artists. Oregon residents, working in Oregon, must have a valid Oregon Tattoo License. This training does not count toward Oregon school required hours but does count toward your continued educational hours. We teach technique not taught in Oregon Licensed Tattoo Schools, so our training is invaluable to a new artist working in the cosmetic tattoo industry.

The course spans two days. The online training portion of the course is available for 12 months and you can access it as often as you like. We also offer support via email for life. Your questions will be answered by Daela Academy staff and escalated to Master Artists if need be.

*Live Models:

Every in-person course includes live models for licensed artists. Real-time, hands-on learning. Licensed tattoo artists are also welcome to bring and work on their own model during the training.

We provide continental breakfast and lunch and beverages.  If you have strict dietary concerns, please let us know in advance.  We would love to accommodate your dietary restrictions, if we cannot then we will recommend you bring your own food.

We are proud to say that class is casual and fun! You may dress comfortably, but please be aware that we take video and pictures during class. Dress as you would at your place of business, when working on clients. Jeans are fine, funky is fine. Our community is very supportive and inclusive, please express yourself and leave here feeling inspired and empowered.

Yes! Our courses are beginner-friendly for newly licensed tattoo artists. They are great for new artists looking to build a strong foundation in cosmetic tattooing and equally impactful for those licensed who want to up their game or learn a new discipline. All students are asked to complete the online course prior to the in-person training.

Every course has a one-on-one upgrade, so whether you are new or experienced, our trainers can focus just on your goals.
